Mr. Cadabra's Classroom is a math tutor, not a data business. We collect the minimum needed to teach and to show you honest progress. We never sell student data, we show no ads, we use no third-party ad trackers — and when your child talks with the tutor, their voice is transcribed to text and the audio is deleted immediately. We never store recordings of your child's voice.
A first name for the student (you choose it — it doesn't have to be their real name), a login code, and learning activity: the conversation with the tutor (whether your child spoke it or typed it, it is kept as text), practice work, assessment results, and progress (units worked, mastery checks, streaks). That's what powers the tutoring and the parent dashboard. We don't ask children for email addresses, phone numbers, photos, location, or anything else.
Mr. Cadabra's voice is generated speech. Your child can talk back: they tap the microphone button, say their answer, and the recording is sent to our speech-to-text provider (ElevenLabs) to be turned into text. The audio is used only for that transcription and is deleted immediately afterward — we do not store voice recordings, we never use them for anything else, and only the text of what was said is kept (as part of the conversation history above). The microphone is only active while your child is actually holding a recording — never in the background — and talking is always optional: students can type instead at any time, and the elementary courses answer by tapping buttons.
Three service providers make Mr. Cadabra's Classroom work, and each receives only what its job requires: Anthropic (the AI that generates the tutoring — it receives the typed conversation), ElevenLabs (turns the tutor's own reply text into speech, and transcribes your child's spoken answers to text — the audio is deleted right after transcription), and Render (hosts the app and its database). We do not send student data to anyone else, and we never sell or rent it — to anyone, ever.
We keep learning history while the account is active so the tutor remembers where your child left off. Want it gone? Email support@mrcadabra.com from the parent's address and we will delete the student's data. A self-serve delete button is on the roadmap alongside parent accounts.
Mr. Cadabra's Classroom is built for minors used under a parent's direction: the parent obtains and holds the login code, and the parent view of the dashboard is read-only. Formal parent-account creation with verifiable consent is being built now and will be required before general availability.
If this policy changes in any way that matters, we'll say so plainly on this page with a new date at the top — no silent edits.
